Your gift goes to the foundation, and you decide which of our two programs it supports. It is used only for the program you choose.

Chay Scholars
Support a student
Tutoring, exam fees and books for students whose parents are in long-term service.
Choose your program on the donation form, or in the memo line if you give by check. If you do not choose, the board directs your gift where it is most needed.
Give once or monthly
Monthly gifts let us plan ahead. Either way, you choose the program, and any amount is welcome.
Monthly
- $50a month — $600 over a year.
- $100a month — $1,200 over a year.
- $150a month — $1,800 over a year.
Once
$100 · $250 · $500 · $1,000 — or any amount. Choose yours on the donation form.

Staff Sergeant Kyu Hyuk Chay Memorial Foundation Inc is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3). EIN 81‑3174121. Contributions are tax‑deductible to the extent allowed by law. Verify us on the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.
Where the money goes
Every gift is published
Gifts to local organizations are listed by name and amount once they have been made. Our fiscal year runs June 1 to May 31, so our IRS filings group gifts by that year rather than by calendar year.
Nobody is paid a salary. The board serves without compensation, no one takes a fee or a percentage of funds raised, and the website costs the foundation nothing to run.

- CheckMake it payable to Staff Sergeant Kyu Hyuk Chay Memorial Foundation Inc — that is the legal name, and a bank cannot accept a check written to a program name. To direct your gift, write Local Organizations or Chay Scholars in the memo line. Post to PO Box 104, Closter, NJ 07624.

What we will and will not do
You choose whether your gift goes to Local Organizations or to Chay Scholars. A designated gift is a legal restriction, and we track it from the day it arrives. If you do not choose, the board directs it where it is most needed.
Gifts cannot be directed to a specific individual. A gift earmarked for a named person is not a deductible charitable contribution, and accepting one would put our exemption at risk.
We never sell, rent or share donor information.
